Edging stones are easy to install, and you can usually finish a border project in less than a day. Here are some tips to help you get started on your next project:
When digging the trenches for your edging stones, you want to dig far down enough that the surrounding soil will support the stones without digging too far down. The best rule of thumb is to dig so the bottom half of your edging stone is underground, while the top half sticks up above ground. Placing your stone halfway in the trench ensures it’ll stay in place while remaining a prominent, decorative feature.
Make sure your trenches are the same depth all the way around. Test a stone in the trench here and there to see if you’re still digging to that halfway mark.
Edging stones make great statement pieces in any yard, driveway, landscaping feature or garden. Easy to install and able to last for a long time, edging stones make for an afternoon project that can provide you with years of outdoor enjoyment.
